Main Presentation, 7:00 PM:

Command And Control Of Your Macs

Do you ever find yourself away from home, wishing that you had access to documents on your household Mac?  Or perhaps you could benefit from seeing and controlling a Mac at another location — for example to check on work tasks from your home?  At July’s CMC meeting, we’ll show you how you can do these things and more.

Whether you’re one mile away from home, or you’re in another country, being able to access all of your documents can save be a lifesaver.  Not only do you enjoy convenience, but you’re also assuring your documents are protected at a safe distance from your computer.

Plus, think of the time you could save by being able to remotely control another Mac — be it in your own home, or at your parent’s house.  There’s no reason you can’t conquer this technical barrier.  Taking control of the computers in your life can be pretty easy, but it can also be accomplished many different ways.

Presenter, Chris Hart, will explain your options for accessing your documents and controlling your computers.  No matter what your technical skill level is, there will be a solution for you during this presentation.

Back To Basics, 6:00 PM:

Introduction To iPhone

If you think of Apple’s iPhone as simply a mobile phone, then we’ll ask you to think again.  This portable device, and it’s brother the iPod Touch, are revolutionary extensions of the Mac platform.  They can entertain you and amuse you, but more importantly they can fulfill your needs for mobile computing.  Much of what you once needed a Mac laptop to accomplish on the road, can now be done with an iPhone, or iPod Touch.

Longtime CMC member, Joe Arcuri, joined the iPhone camp in June and wants to share with you what he has learned.  Whether, or not, you’re considering an iPhone or iPod Touch for yourself, this 45 minute introduction will be of interest.  Unlike the Apple Store, Joe has no interest in selling you a product and will share his unbiased pros and cons, plus answer all of your questions.  For those just curious, this is a chance to understand what all the hubbub is about.  While those thinking about buying will benefit from Joe’s personal experience.
